Mr. Hobbs was born and raised in Fort Payne, AL. It is known for socks (Hence the name: Sock Capital of the World) and the country music group Alabama. It is nestled between Lookout Mountain and Sand Mountain. Mr. Hobbs graduated from Plainview High School in 1992. He attended Northeast Alabama Community College for two years prior to entering Jacksonville State University in the fall of 1994. During his college years, he worked summers at Maranatha Camp and Conference Center as a counselor and the Assistant Program Director. He graduated from JSU in the fall of 1997 after completing his student teaching at F. E. Willard Elementary School in Piedmont, AL. His first assignment as an elementary teacher was teaching 4th grade at Owens Elementary School, where he remains today. He has taught 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. He also was the Scholars' Bowl Coach for seven years. His hobbies include spending quality time with family, music, using his APPLE computer (go MAC), home improvements, golf, television, fishing, etc.
